The students of the Sandy Hook Elementary School choir were guided by Jennifer Hudson’s voice as she belted out “America The Beautiful” at Super Bowl 47 yesterday. There wasn’t a dry eye in the Superdome as she delivered the inspirational lyrics backed by such innocent vocals from the youth directly affected by the Sandy Hook massacre that claimed the lives of 27 people, 20 of which were children. “Such a privilege to be performing w the Sandy Hook elementary chorus at the #SuperBowl today,” tweeted J Hud! All the women of this year’s Super Bowl did an amazing job! Watch the emotional performance, below:

The hair does not begin to lock until the coils are replaced with budding. (Little balls or knots of hair). At this point I have a lot of coiling and a few buds!

I’m pretty excited for this movie–simply because I am a huge Angela Bassett fan. “Betty & Coretta” follows Dr. Betty Shabazz (played by Mary J. Blige) and Coretta Scott King (played by Angela Bassett) as they continue their lives as single mothers, after their husbands, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr., were assassinated.

Melody,

It’s seems like every naturalista is on the hunt for the perfect detangler and leave-in. I love Design Essentials® Hydrate Leave-In Hydrating Conditioner. First, the fragrance is AMAZING! Hydrate is a creamy leave-in which is perfect for natural hair and detangling. But it also doesn’t weigh hair down. Hydrate allows…

It’s finally starting to feel like Winter here in NC and both my hair and skin are responding horribly! In these cold temperatures its imperative that both stay moisturized.

In times like this I go to my magic moisturizer…COCONUT OIL! This stuff is freaking amazing. I’m sure there are several opinions on oils and how they work but so far I haven’t experienced an oil as versatile. Here are just a few ways I use CO:

*Hair: It’s awesome for sealing natural hair and ensures that the cuticle maintains all protein without being too heavy. Plus it leaves a sweet smell to your lovely locs.

*Skin: Because it’s so light, CO also makes a great skin moisturizer for your total body. I personally like to use it on my face after a good exfoliation. It increases healing of any blemishes but also leaves your skin feeling baby bottom smooth!
